OTC skin lightening products may contain dangerous mercury and/or hydroquinone, causing serious — even permanent — harm. There are NO FDA-approved OTC options. Talk to your doctor about safe treatments. Learn more: https://t.co/40mIkHeMPt https://t.co/PZcXgUI5sK

An experimental skin cream reduced the biological age of skin by two years in just four weeks, according to new data from biotech company Rubedo Life Sciences. The treatment, RLS-1496, works at the cellular level — clearing out damaged senescent cells that leak inflammation into surrounding tissue while helping healthy cells recover. In early human trials on eczema patients, the cream boosted collagen production by 10% and lowered inflammation markers throughout the body. FDA-approved prescription versions are still three to four years away. Full story here https://t.co/TvKdWq6U0k

وشمل التحذير الأولي منتجات إضافية هي: Deluxe Silken Bleaching Cream، وLa Crema De Rebeca، وJhalak Hand & Foot Beauty Cream، وDr Yanhee Cream Set (Blue)، وDr Yanhee Cream Set (Green)، وCCM Special Cream Turmeric، وCCM Perfect 365 White Cream.
Mercury in skin lightening creams got highlighted again in a new FDA warning dropped on June 1st, apparently. What is old is new, again? ☣️🧴 They tested a bunch of bleaching and whitening products (I’m seeing a lot of them still sold online rn too) and found high levels of mercury in many of them. I don’t use any of these and didn’t recognize most of the brands right away, but they’re common over the counter creams people grab for dark spots or brighter skin…and some are still available on places like eBay and Amazon. Btw, there are ZERO FDA approved OTC skin lightening products. Mercury gets added (even though it’s clearly not supposed to be) because it temporarily blocks melanin production to help create a whitening effect. It is cheap and fast acting, which is why some manufacturers keep using it even though it is banned in cosmetics. Some products also sometimes contain hydroquinone, which is yet another restricted bleaching ingredient as well. Mercury can absorb through the skin and cause kidney damage, neurological issues like tremors, headaches and numbness, etc. Hydroquinone can lead to rashes, swelling and permanent skin discoloration, which to me seems rather defeating given people are using it for dark spots. Longer and more frequent use seems to also make the problems worse. Examples seem to include Pond’s Rejuveness creams from Mexico (especially ones without the protective foil seal), Pond’s Clarant B3 from Mexico, Crema Aguamary, Aranda Balsamo Blanco, La Crema de Rebeca, Tia Mana, Garnier SkinActive Aclarante, and Jalea Real Grisi from Mexico, Golden Pearl Beauty Cream from Afghanistan, Block & White and Natural Body Recipe whitening powders from the Philippines, etc. Anyways, not radioactive (I know that’s what I normally post about) but I do enjoy deep diving poisons as well and thought maybe this was something worth mentioning since this was updated like 3 weeks ago.
Nearly 1 in 3 tested skin-lightening products in NYC were found to contain mercury, with some imported creams reaching levels 27,000x above FDA limits. Most offered no warning. 🧴⚠️ https://t.co/sbpOp9XHYg #Mercury #SkinLightening @JExpSciEnvEpi https://t.co/M2Ef0RCW3q
